Machine Shop RFQ Scorecard & ROI Worksheet

Use consistent definitions to connect valid inquiries, quoting and delivered outcomes. This worksheet runs locally in your browser. It does not upload entries or save them after you close the page. Print or save to PDF to retain a review.

Before entering figures: choose one acquisition cohort and its maturity date. Use matching source and cost rules. Unknown inputs stay blank. The example is fictional, not a performance target or client result.

1. Define the review

2. Enter the cohort figures

Include the agreed acquisition costs.
Exclude spam, tests and duplicate revisions.
Requests that meet the agreed fit criteria.
Count opportunities, not quote versions.
Open and canceled quotes are excluded from decided quotes.
Count accounts, not purchase orders.
Exclude open pipeline and speculative repeat orders.
Costs for the same delivered work.

Enter figures to calculate results. Blank values remain unknown.

3. Review the results

MeasureResultDefinition
Qualification rate—Qualified RFQs ÷ valid inquiries
Quote rate—Quoted opportunities ÷ qualified RFQs
Decided-quote win rate—Wins ÷ (wins + losses)
Cost per qualified RFQ—Marketing cost ÷ qualified RFQs
Cost per acquired customer—Acquisition cost ÷ new accounts
Delivered contribution—Revenue − agreed variable costs
Observed contribution ROI—(Contribution − marketing cost) ÷ marketing cost
Revenue / spend ratio—Revenue ÷ marketing cost; not contribution ROI

Results use your attribution assumptions. They do not prove incremental causal lift or represent accounting profit. A zero denominator has no meaningful ratio. Open quotes remain unresolved.

4. Qualify and act

Review processes, materials, part sizes, quantities, quality requirements, capacity and commercial timing before accepting an RFQ. Assign incomplete requests an owner and next action.
